Description: This IWC x Porsche Designs collab began in the late 80’s and resulted in some of the most iconic watches pushing new design as well as new materials and technology. The 3551 reference built upon the original compass watch and added a moonphase movement at the 12 o’clock marker. At 39mm, the PVD coated aluminum case was oneof the first to lean into this rugged costing technology. The bracelet was also forward thinking using a composite delrin material. Functionality allowed for the addition of a clam shell compass and mirror , essential to field craft individuals in rugged environments. Full sets with display case are rarely seen.
