1983 Rolex 16800 Matte Dial Submariner – Unpolished

Description: We live for these finds. This watch was sourced in Japan at a local pawn shop. The owner had it for many years and lived in the outskirts of Tokyo. Matte dial transitional 16800’s are rare birds indeed however to find one unpolished and with such a beautiful velvet patina is no easy feat. All original with hands a shade or two more saturated than the dial. The second hand has oxidized into a very pleasing bronze. This is fairly common for this era of Submariners. Typically any humidity that is trapped inside the case finds itself attaching to the hands.

Case: Excellent condition case that is unpolished. Case has some scratches which is almost a prerequisite to unpolished cases.
