1986 Rolex Transitional 5513 Submariner

Description: The 5513 towards the late 80’s switched from an era of matte dials back to an era with gloss dials. This specific example has an excellent dial with creamy tritium plots that are surrounded by the first appearance of white gold surrounds. This dial introduced the modern Submariner dial which still uses a black gloss dial with white gold surrounds. The modern dial is complimented and contrasted by the acrylic crystal rather than the sapphire crystal cases. This contrast makes this a very unique transitional period for Rolex as they were phasing out the previous cases moving towards the newer 14060 reference. This case is in excellent shape with plenty of meat on the bones. The insert is a mk4 that has faded from black to a ghosty blueish hue. The hangtag with original serial number is also a nice treat to be included with this sale.
