1984 Rolex 16800 Matte Dial Submariner – Tropical insert

Description: Excellent condition 16800 Transitional Submariner. This Sub was one of the last matte dial 16800’s before Rolex transitioned to White Gold Surround Dials. These transitional subs have risen in value in the past few years because of how few were produced. Sporting a Sapphire crystal and maintaining the matte dial, it is a blend of old and new Rolex. Excellent dial with heavy yellow lume. What makes this 16800 so unique is the brown tropical insert that has aged to a gorgeous hue. When the insert is paired with the deep yellow dial, it makes for the perfect contrast.
