Description: 1984 Rolex 16800 Matte Dial Submariner. This 16800 has a gorgeous faded slate/lilac bezel and deep yellow patina lume. Case is thick and even and well maintained. There is a slight nick on the 6 o’clock marker of the dial, but the remaining lume is intact. This 16800 boasts a sapphire crystal yet hosts a matte dial signifying the transition of these watches to their younger modern white gold surround dial brethren. These watches were only made for a couple years and phased out as Rolex introduced the 16610.
