1980 Rolex 16808 Blue Tropical Submariner

Description: Perhaps this is the embodiment of why we love nipple dial Rolex’s. The tropical dial is caused by the reaction of the dial over long periods of UV exposure. This dial variant has been known to have a thin lacquer or anodization and exposes the yellow dial underneath the blue anodization. How we know this is not water damage is due to the text and crown being in perfect condition and unaffected by the reaction happening underneath. The case has been previously polished but remains very thick and even from the crown guards through the lugs. When we say “1 of 1” this is what we are referring to.
