Description: The four digit Datejusts can be compared to the skittles of the watch world. Dial variations are plentiful, and it seems like this was an outlet for the watch designers at Rolex considering most sport watches only came in black dials from this period. This specific 1601 can often be mistaken for the rare ghost dial variant where the white text disappears on a light grey dial color, however, this dial is indeed different upon closer inspection. The color is more of a glacier grey or blue and looks different than the ghost variant. This one also is a non luminous dial which makes it quite the unicorn 1601.
