1977 Rolex 6263 “Big Red” Daytona

Description: With signature “Big Red” text, black acrylic tachometer bezel, and chunky screw down pushers, the 6263 is considered the blueprint for all modern Daytonas. Rolex made many variants of the 4-digit Daytona from Pre-Daytona Dato-Compax to exotic Paul Newmans, but this Big Red, black with silver contrasting sub-dials, is the version that we associate with the marquee. This cosmograph comes excellent with long, thick lugs. These pushers have been replaced with service parts as the original gaskets were a problematic source of water intrusion. Partial lume loss at 3 and 5 o’clock is common, but this watch is an otherwise fantastic find.
