1971 Rolex 1675 MK2 Pepsi GMT – Full Set Provenance

Description: Watches like this GMT make the long hours well worth it. The original provenance of this watch shows that it was owned by a retired Air Force captain that served during the Vietnam war as well as the NTSB as a crash investigator which included one of the 9/11 plane crashes along with TWA flight 800 and the Hudson River flight. Included are the original box and papers that show Robert Benzon’s name on the certificate as well as a page documenting his career and the origins of his Pepsi GMT. The paperwork mentions a service date in 1981 where Rolex Service Center replaced the original insert with a service one. This was replaced back to a period correct one at some point likely after Robert sold this watch. Dial and case are in excellent condition as well and this is a correct MK2 insert. This watch has definitely lived a life that could fill a book and we are so glad to be able to offer it to a future custodian and aviation enthusiast.
