1960 Rolex 5512 Tulip Dial Tropical Gilt Submariner

Description: We certainly feel a certain way about tropical watches, but gilt dials that turn tropical like this are our favorite. This 5512 Gilt Chapter-Ring Submariner has an amazing tulip dial named for its tulip shaped crown/coronet on the dial. The dial over the years has morphed from a glossy black to a cognac brown that is in amazing condition  . This watch comes from the original owner who recently had a service with RSC. There is a circular hand drag near the hand post which is unfortunate but really does not detract much from a killer dial.
