1940’s Bovet Mono-Rattrapante Chronograph

Description: Having roots originating in pocketwatches, Bovet introduced this oversized 1070 Mono-rattrapante chronograph. Watchpool24 recently described its movement as;

There was a strong demand for a split-seconds complication in the 1930s. As a result, Bovet developed and patented the “Mono-Rattrapante” mechanism in 1936. The chronograph starts by pressing the top pusher. Pressing and holding the bottom pusher will stop the second hand. This allows the time to be read. If you release the lower pusher, the second hand catches up with the elapsed time and continues to run.
