Description: 1971 Rolex “Red Sub” 1680 Submariner. The early 1680 reference submariners had one single line of red text. There are 6 variants of the famed red sub dial (not counting service dials) The MKIV was characterized with open 6’s on the depth rating and with the “Ft” first as opposed to meters first. This dial variant started in the 3 million range which this sub falls under, The case was recently polished and is in excellent condition., The dial has some light patina near the 10 and 12 o’clock plots. Dial lume plots have a deep custard color to them and are original as are the hands.
